S4C has commissioned Wildflame to produce a series exploring the emotional reasons why people send flowers.
In the 6 x 60-minute Y ‘Sgubor Flodau (The Flower Barn), Wildflame will explore the heartwarming and tragic reasons people commission special floral works of art, including parents who have lost their daughter and Ukrainian refugees who want to offer thanks.
The series producer is Sara Ogwen Williams (Teulu’r Castell, Colleen Ramsey: Bywyd a Bwyd), the exec producers are Catrin Mair Jones (Dan yr Wyneb) and Will Knott, and the producer is Lowri Jones.
It was ordered by S4C’s head of entertainment and factual entertainment Elen Rhys, who said the series “delivers with heart, authenticity, and surprises.”
“S4C has a track record of producing exciting new formats that appeal to both the domestic audience as well as having international appeal. This contains all the magical ingredients needed – saying it, and more, with beautiful flowers,” she said.
