The UK’s population is living longer. The current national average is 79 years for men and 82 for women, but the village of Detling near Maidstone in Kent is defying the odds with people living well into their 90s.

Residents believe that the water in Detling holds the secret to a long and healthy life. Presenter Richie Anderson travels to Detling to find out the reason why the residents live so long.

He speaks to Margaret Cooke (90), a fervent believer that the Water is the key to a long life. He tests the water with Douglas Whitfield, Director of Operations at South East Water.

Richie even joins the active community in their weekly coffee morning at the church. He finds out their thoughts, even speaking to the head of the community store, Richard Finn (72).
